Voting is a responsibility, not a privilege. The purpose of voting is so that the government represents the people. If less informed people don't vote, then it will only represent the more informed people, whose interests are very different than those of the average shmoe. These people are often less involved in politics because they're busy trying to feed their families, and are the people most in need of a voice in government. We should be informing them, not urging them to stay away from the polls.

Plus, this test is a face-recognition test, hardly a good test of whether you should vote. (That said, I got a perfect score, nya nya nya.)

It's a place to start, anyway. I didn't get a perfect score, but I got an A and am "cleared" to vote. Hope you don't mind if I...um...borrow this from you later this week. Thanks for sharing it!

"A - You should definitely vote."

Yay! i scored correctly on Madonna and Paris Hilton so i should vote! WehhooO! wat the heck is this bunkola?!?!?! So lame!

First off, their premise that GOTV is just about numbers is so freakin lame. and they are also WAY off base with that bs that voting is a privilige not a right. wat the heck is that?! Sounds like yet another republican tactic to keep people away from the polls. its not bad enough that society currently prevents a huge segment of society from voting b/c they have a felony on record. nevermind that we convict african-american males at a much higher rate their their white counterparts

nor is it bad enough that we have hackable voting systems that somehow mysteriously fail in heavily democratic or african-american areas. but now, this bullshit too? yes, many people aren't full educated about who's in office, but does it really matter if they don't know what the white house press secretary looks like? the situation is bad enough in this country with election fraud and voter apathy. we need to do 20x more to get people educated and out to the polls rather than preventing people from voting. in other countries people walk for days and deal with rioting and violence just to vote. and yet here, the place thats suppossedly the best example of democracy the world has to offer and we are trying to diminish an already pitiful turnout. shame!
